Cumberland City Council Library Staff Donate to Books in Homes in Honour of Beloved Colleague

    Oct 30, 2020 0

Robynne Winley worked at Cumberland City Council Library for the past 28 years. When she lost her life unexpectedly in July, the staff wanted to show their respect and condolences, and contributed over $600 to the family. Rather than spend it on flowers and gifts, the Winley family decided to donate the funds to a cause close to Robynne’s heart. As a librarian, Robynne was a strong advocate for reading and knew the importance of books in a child’s life. The Books In Homes project was the ideal benefactor, and her family suggested donating the funds to support a school for a year. The Library wholeheartedly embraced the idea and donated another few hundred dollars to support a class of 15 students for an entire year.
